RISI announces date changes for 2008 PPI Market Pulp and European Outlook conferences
BRUSSELS, Jan. 10, 2008 - RISI today announced that the dates for their 2008 European Pulp and Paper Outlook Conference and PPI Market Pulp Conference will be moved from March to the beginning of April.
Rhiannon James-van Beuningen, Senior Vice President, Media Products at RISI commented, "Based on feedback from our customers and speakers, we've decided to change the dates of these conferences. March is a busy time for the industry and we feel that April would be a better month for our event. This change will enable us to attract more attendees to continue the record-breaking attendance levels seen at RISI conferences in 2007. We apologize to anyone who is inconvenienced by this decision."
The 16th PPI Market Pulp Conference will still be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal but will now occur April 6 - 7, 2008. For the first time, the Market Pulp Conference will include a special panel of the industry's leading forecasters and consultants, including Kurt Schaefer, Vice President of Fiber at RISI; Tom Wright, Director, Hawkins Wright; Timo Teras, Leading Advisor, Pöyry Forest Industry Consulting Oy; and Richard Cockram, Marketing Consultant, NLK Associates.
The 10th European Pulp & Paper Outlook Conference will also take place at the Sheraton in Lisbon, immediately following PPI Market Pulp, now on April 7 - 9, 2008. This conference will feature regional and global industry forecasts presented by RISI economists, plus guest speakers from other leading organizations including Alain Baudant, CEO, Smurfit Kappa Paper Division. Plus, for the first time, the European Conference will also include a CEO Panel where the region's leading executives will debate the most important issues facing the industry.
The early registration deadlines for both events have been adjusted to February 11 and the cancellation policy has been modified to accommodate those who wish to attend in April.
